The All-on-4 treatment concept allows patients to regain the entirety of their bite function, without having to undergo extensive pretreatment. At the Auburn practice of Dr. Tom S. Rohdy, we partner with surgical specialists to provide comprehensive bite reconstruction through implant placement. Our implant specialists have taken extensive training courses in order to provide treatment through All-on-4.
Why Does All-on-4 Require Additional Training?
The All-on-4 treatment concept is unique in that it allows us to place implants without requiring the bone grafts that are normally necessary to make up for the lost bone structure that following missing teeth.
The posterior implants are angled inward toward the anterior implants, allowing them to be placed in areas of the jawbone where loss of volume has occurred. The implant specialists we work with have trained to place these unique implants, affording our patients an increased level of treatment success.
All-on-4 implants are specially made to support treatment success with less vertical bone structure than is required for placement of traditional implants. Once implants are placed by specialists, we restore them to create the appearance and comfort of a full bite. The training we have undergone allows us to place the restorations on the same day as implant placement.
All-on-4 FAQ
Q: Is maintaining All-on-4 difficult?
A: All-on-4 is a permanently fixed bridge. Patients never have to remove their restoration. At routine dental appointments, the prosthetic is removed by the dentist for cleaning. Regular at-home maintenance for your bridge involves brushing like normal.
Q: Is the implant placement painful?
A: No. Implant placement is completed while patients are sedated.
Q: How long does All-on-4 last?
A: Fully integrated implants are able to last a lifetime. While the full-arch bridge can be damaged due to physical trauma, grinding, or clenching, new restorations are placed on the existing implants.
Q: Do I qualify for All-on-4?
A: While many patients qualify for treatment through All-on-4, certain conditions such as gum disease may make it necessary to receive pretreatments. The best way to find out whether you qualify is to contact our Auburn dental office today.
