Restorations Made In Office
Dental restorations are traditionally sent to labs for fabrication. With this approach, patients have to wait days or weeks after their initial appointment and before they receive permanent restoration. With CEREC, our dentist provides restorations on the same day as patients’ initial appointment with our practice.
CEREC restorations are made using detailed digital impressions that allow us to create custom prosthetics within a single appointment. CAD/CAM imaging ensures that each restoration is ideally shaped to enhance patient comfort.
Crowns created in our Auburn dental office are milled from blocks of durable dental porcelain and are matched to the shade of the neighboring teeth. After the ceramic block has been shaped to fit your tooth, it is baked and hardened in our specialty oven. The entire CEREC process allows us to meet your aesthetic needs.
Not only do these crowns create a seamless smile, but are entirely made from porcelain. All-porcelain crowns provide the semi-translucence of natural teeth and are ideal for patients with metal sensitivities.
Other Restorations through CEREC
CEREC creates a number of restorations in addition to same-day crowns. For patients who have experienced less dramatic decay, but who are unable to receive a filling, we provide same-day porcelain inlays and onlays. These require less removal less of the tooth’s natural structure, while preserving their health and appearance.
For patients looking for aesthetic corrections to their smiles, we use CEREC to fabricate porcelain veneers. These shells make improvements in the spacing, shade, and structure of enamel.
